Ganduje Urges Former Deputy Governors to Mediate Crises

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Governor of Kano State and ex-APC National Chairman, called on the Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria to actively mediate conflicts between serving governors and their deputies.

This appeal was made during a courtesy visit from the Forum members in Abuja ahead of their annual national conference. Ganduje stated that the Forum, composed of experienced former deputy governors, is well-equipped to address these disputes regardless of political affiliations.

He highlighted the critical role of deputy governors in ensuring effective governance and constitutional succession, urging the Forum to also address conflicts between outgoing governors and their successors. He recommended that future conferences produce actionable recommendations to enhance relationships among political leaders and facilitate peaceful transitions.

Comrade Chris Akomas, Chairman of the Forum, reiterated their commitment to national unity and good governance, emphasizing the theme of this year’s conference focused on bridging the leadership-citizen disconnect.
