Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu Over PFIPC Scandal

Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that conflicting accounts from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regarding the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) accounts have revealed a credibility crisis for President Tinubu's administration. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku noted that the CBN's testimony before the House of Representatives contradicted the OAGF's narrative, indicating a serious governance issue.

He urged President Tinubu to clarify which account he supports and to initiate an independent investigation to restore public trust. Atiku emphasized that the PFIPC scandal has escalated beyond disputed accounts to a matter of the President's integrity and competence, calling for the National Assembly to summon both the Accountant-General and the CBN Governor to provide a unified account under oath.
