Gwarzo Raises Alarm Over Insecurity in Kano State

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State and a gubernatorial candidate for the Democratic Congress, raised alarms regarding the escalating insecurity in the state during an interview with BBC Hausa. He highlighted the growing incidence of criminal activities, including frequent attacks, killings, and kidnappings, which have instilled fear among residents in both urban and rural areas.

Gwarzo criticized the Kano State government for allegedly failing to adequately protect lives and property, despite numerous complaints from residents across various local government areas experiencing serious attacks that have resulted in significant property loss and fatalities. He pointed out that insecurity is no longer confined to rural areas, with reports of killings and attacks surfacing within Kano city itself.

Gwarzo emphasized the urgent need to review the current security strategies to ensure peace and safety throughout the state.
