Kano State to Build 49 New Schools with World Bank Support

On Friday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf received a courtesy visit from Professor Suwaiba Ahm Dure, the Minister of State for Education. During this meeting, they reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to strengthen collaboration with the federal government and partners to enhance education across the state.

Governor Yusuf emphasized ongoing support for initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education and expanding educational infrastructure. He highlighted the importance of the "Adolescent Girl Initiative" and the "Learn and Empower Project" as major interventions to bolster educational infrastructure and teacher support.

Professor Dure informed the governor that the World Bank has approved funding for the construction of 49 new schools under the Agil project, with a total cost of N23 billion. The contractor has already mobilized to the site.

The minister commended the Kano State Government for the quality of projects executed in schools and urged the Agil project implementation team to emulate the standards set by the state government.
