Yakasai Leaves APC to Join ADC Amid Political Shift

Salihu Yakasai, who previously served as the media aide to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Yakasai made this announcement on his Facebook page on Monday, stating that he consulted with family, friends, and political associates before making the decision.

He has already submitted his exit letter from the APC and registered with the ADC, expressing his hope for a successful journey with the new party. Yakasai's political history includes a brief affiliation with the People's Redemption Party in 2022, where he contested for the gubernatorial candidacy in the 2023 elections before rejoining the APC.

His defection to the ADC comes amid a growing momentum for the party, which recently welcomed nine senators from various parties, positioning itself as a rising force in Nigeria's opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
