Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Confirms Sule Garo as Deputy

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf announced that the selection of Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor was based on merit and his commitment to the development of the state. This disclosure was made during the 39th Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Kano on Tuesday.

Governor Yusuf recalled that he had transmitted Garo's name to the State House of Assembly for screening following the resignation of former Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo. He highlighted the importance of selecting someone who would contribute significantly to the state's development.

Yusuf commended the leadership of the State House of Assembly, particularly Speaker Jibril Falgor, for the swift confirmation of Garo's nomination. Garo is expected to be sworn in soon, and the governor called for support from stakeholders and civil servants to enable him to effectively discharge his duties.

During the council meeting, the governor also presented 39 outstanding excellence awards to various organizations in recognition of his administration's achievements, including a cash gift of N30,000 to a primary school teacher for their contributions to the education sector.
