Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Defends Garo's Deputy Selection

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf defended the selection of Murtala Sule Garo as the new deputy governor, emphasizing his demonstrated competence and commitment to the state's development. This statement was made during the 39th Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Kano on Tuesday.

Governor Yusuf noted that Garo's name was transmitted to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening following the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo. The governor expressed the importance of selecting someone who would contribute significantly to the state's progress.

He commended the leadership of the state assembly, particularly Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgor, for the expected swift confirmation of Garo's nomination. Additionally, Governor Yusuf called for support for Garo in his new role.

During the executive council meeting, the governor also presented 39 outstanding excellence awards to various organizations in recognition of his administration's achievements, along with a gift of thirty thousand naira to a primary school teacher for their contributions to educational development.
