PDP Accuses APC Government of Recklessness in Nigeria

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of operating Nigeria with alarming recklessness. This statement follows allegations made by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed that Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, received N400 million in proxy demands, in addition to N200 million for a security appointment.

While the APC did not directly deny these allegations, Bayo Onanuga, a presidential spokesperson, described Adeyemi as an impostor and fraudster. The PDP's statement highlighted a pattern of nepotism and cronyism within the APC-led government, suggesting that merit has been displaced and impunity has become standard practice.

The allegations also included claims of financial inducements in exchange for facilitating appointments within the Presidential Economic Advisory Council. Furthermore, the PDP pointed to a troubling pattern of failures within the administration, including the appointment of undeserving individuals and the mismanagement of significant funds, such as the N800 billion scandal involving the Progress Governors Forum.
