Gbajabiamila Files N15bn Defamation Suit Against Adeyemi

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, has initiated a defamation lawsuit against Princ Adeniyi Adeyemi, seeking N15 billion in damages at the High Court in Abuja. The lawsuit stems from allegations made by Adeyemi that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion federal grant approved for the Federal Agency for Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Gbajabiamila's legal team, led by Kemi Pinheiro SAN, claims these statements are false and malicious. The suit demands N10 billion in general damages, N5 billion in aggravated damages, and N200 million for legal costs.

Furthermore, Gbajabiamila seeks a court order for Adeyemi to retract his statements in five national newspapers and on social media within 30 days. The allegations also include claims of a failed assassination attempt against Gbajabiamila and accusations of Adeyemi's involvement with intermediaries.

The court has directed Adeyemi to appear within 14 days.
