Geregu Power Plc Procures Three Generator Transformers

Geregu Power Plc has filed a corporate action disclosing a procurement agreement with Siemens Energy for the supply of three generator transformers for its Ajaokuta power plant. The filing details the scope of the agreement, the generating units to be served, and the roles of both parties under the arrangement.
Geregu Power Plc has announced a procurement agreement with Siemens Energy for the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of three generator transformers for the Geregu Power Plant in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. The transformers will serve the plant's three generating units, GT11, GT12 and GT13.
Under the agreement, Siemens Energy will handle the full supply chain from design through to delivery. Geregu Power Plc will participate in Factory Acceptance Testing before the equipment is shipped to Nigeria.
The company stated that the transformers are expected to enhance equipment reliability, reduce the risk of transformer-related outages, and strengthen the plant's connection to the national grid. The procurement is described as part of Geregu's broader investment in the maintenance, modernisation and improvement of its generating assets.
The Geregu Power Plant currently operates three Siemens V94.2 gas turbine generator units with a combined installed capacity of 435 megawatts. Geregu was incorporated in 2006 and commenced operations in 2007. It holds the distinction of being the first power generation company listed on the Main Board of the Nigerian Exchange.
