Free Solar Installation Training for Nigerians Announced

The FGN Power Company has opened applications for a free solar photovoltaic installation training program aimed at Nigerians interested in renewable energy careers. This initiative, in collaboration with Siemens Energy and the German development agency GIZ, seeks to equip participants with practical skills in solar installation.

The three-week program will include classroom instruction, practical training, technical site visits, and competency assessments. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive certification from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

The training is open to individuals with or without prior technical experience, including recent graduates with National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or undergraduate qualifications. The training will take place at designated centers in Lagos and Abeokuta, and applicants must be available for the entire duration.

While the training and meals are provided at no cost, participants are responsible for their accommodation and transportation. Interested individuals must submit an online Expression of Interest form by 4 pm on September 18, 2026.
