Ghana Awarded Hosting Rights for 2027 U-20 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially awarded Ghana the hosting rights for the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The announcement was made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) through a statement from its General Secretary, Prosper Addo.

This decision reflects CAF's strong confidence in the GFA's ability to organize and deliver a tournament that meets the highest standards of youth football. The 2027 edition will coincide with Ghana's 70th independence anniversary.

CAF has committed to working closely with the GFA to establish a local organizing committee to ensure the successful execution of the tournament, focusing on infrastructure readiness, logistics, security, and overall fan experience.
