GigaLayer Acquires Registeram to Strengthen Hosting Market

GigaLayer, a Nigeria-based cloud infrastructure firm, has acquired Registeram, a domain registration and web hosting company that has been operating in Nigeria since 2008. The acquisition was disclosed in a statement released by GigaLayer on Wednesday in Lagos, although financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

This acquisition gives GigaLayer full operational control over Registeram's assets and customer portfolio, marking the latest consolidation in Nigeria's fragmented hosting and domain services segment. Ahmad Mukoshi, the founder and CEO of GigaLayer, stated that the acquisition is less about increasing headcount and more about enhancing infrastructure resilience.

The deal adds to GigaLayer's list of recent acquisitions, which includes brands such as Trudigit, Hub8, SMEinabox, and LagosHost. GigaLayer operates infrastructure across two data centers in Lagos and offers bare metal cloud computing services designed for enterprise workloads.

The acquisition signals a maturation of the local market, allowing GigaLayer to compete with global giants while providing local support and stable pricing.
