Ogazi Wins Gold, Onojuvwevwo Takes Bronze at Glasgow 2026

At the 2026 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, Team Nigeria's Samuel Ogazi won the gold medal in the men's 400m event on Saturday. Ogazi finished with a time that placed him significantly ahead of Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards, who secured the silver medal with a time of 44.82 seconds.

South Africa's Zakithi Nene took the bronze medal, clocking in at 45.21 seconds. Nigeria's Edidiong Okon Udo also competed in the final but finished in eighth place with a time of 45.81 seconds.

In the women's 400m final, Ella Onojuvwevwo claimed the bronze medal with a time of 51.00 seconds, just 0.01 seconds shy of the silver medal. Jamaica's Dejanea Oakley won gold in this event with a time of 50.21 seconds, while Barbados' Sada Williams took silver with a time of 50.99 seconds.
