Lookman Scores First Goal of Season in Atlético Win
Ademola Lookman expressed his delight after scoring in Atlético Madrid's 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. Lookman, who came off the bench in the 71st minute, scored his first goal of the campaign eight minutes later, capitalizing on a rebound from Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens after Jonathan David's shot.
This goal ended a six-match goal drought for Lookman. He praised Atlético's collective performance and noted that coach Diego Simeone had instructed him to bring energy to both attack and defense.
Despite his joy at scoring, Lookman acknowledged his struggles at the start of the season but emphasized his commitment to improving through hard work. He credited his teammates for their efforts prior to his introduction, which facilitated his contribution to the victory.
Lookman stated that the win would boost Atlético's confidence ahead of their next La Liga fixture against Espanyol.
