Super Eagles' Okoye Out of Jordan Friendly Due to Injury

Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, has been ruled out of the upcoming friendly match against Jordan due to a thigh injury he sustained during training. The injury occurred while he was training in Antalya, Turkey.

As a result, head coach Eric Chell will rely on Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye as available goalkeeping options for the match scheduled for Tuesday. Despite this setback, the team is maintaining its training schedule in Antalya.

Notably, Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi have also left the camp, with Ajayi's wife recently giving birth. The Super Eagles are coming off a friendly series where they secured a 2-1 victory against Iran, featuring players like Moses Simon and Akor Adam, who made his debut.

Chell has named a 23-man squad for the friendly, which includes experienced players such as captain Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, alongside emerging talents. The team aims to make final adjustments amid ongoing injury concerns.
