Golden Eaglets Prepare for China Invitational Tournament

The Golden Eaglets, Nigeria's U-17 national football team, are set to participate in an invitational tournament in China next week. This tournament serves as preparation for the upcoming 2025 WAFU B U-17 Championship, which will be hosted by Burkina Faso in November.

The team, a five-time FIFA U-17 World Cup winner, commenced their training camp in Abuja on Tuesday under the guidance of head coach Eboborits Uwejamomer. The squad is expected to be trimmed ahead of the tournament in China.

The WAFU B U-17 Championship will also serve as a qualifying competition for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. The Golden Eaglets failed to qualify for the last edition of the U-17 AFCON.
