Golden Eaglets to Compete in China Invitational Tournament

The Golden Eaglets, Nigeria's U-17 national football team, are set to participate in an invitational tournament in China next week. This tournament is part of their preparation for the WAFU B U-17 Championship, which will be hosted by Burkina Faso in November.

The team, under the guidance of coach Guidance Eboborits Uwejamomer, began their preparations in Abuja last week on Tuesday. The squad is expected to be trimmed down ahead of the tournament in China.

This preparatory phase follows the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TD) U-15 held last year, which played a significant role in the selection of players for the current squad. The upcoming WAFU B U-17 Championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
