Golf for Peace Tournament Promotes Unity in Nigeria

The Golf for Peace tournament, organized by Golf for Peace, took place at Ikoyi Club 1938 and aimed to promote unity and social impact across Nigeria through sport. The event featured 120 golfers from various states, including participants from IBB International Golf Country Club, Cross Creek Golf Club, and players from Lagos, Bayelsa, Ibadan, and Abeokuta.

Toluawalash Balogun, an 11-year-old golfer, emerged as the overall women's winner with a net score of 66, while Abiodun Adesina clinched the men's title with a net score of 70. Kemi Olowoyo Otegbad, the tournament organizer, emphasized that the event was designed not only as a sports competition but also as a platform to foster dialogue and collaboration for peacebuilding across communities.

Abimbola Ajinibi, the chairman of the planning committee, highlighted the importance of a non-violent approach to addressing societal challenges. Mobolaji Ogunlend, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, commended the initiative for promoting unity.
