Charity Golf Tournament Raises Cancer Awareness at Ikoyi

On April 17, 2023, the Ikoyi Club 1938 hosted a charity golf tournament titled "Swing Against Cancer," aimed at raising awareness and funds for cancer care. The event featured notable participants, including cancer survivors Farooq Oreagba and Pat Ozoemen, who highlighted the significance of early detection and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to combat cancer.

The tournament was organized by the Cancer Care Foundation and included teams such as 4DCure and Pepsi, with last year's winners, Team Sacvin, also participating. The event's chairman, Chumi Nwogu, emphasized the importance of the tournament in promoting awareness about early cancer detection and the need for regular health screenings.

The tournament raised funds to support cancer treatment and encouraged participants to adopt healthier diets. Oreagba reiterated that cancer is not a death sentence, advocating for regular check-ups.

The event was sponsored by Providus Bank and Pepsi, with PKF as a silver sponsor, contributing to the fight against cancer.
