Gombe State Appoints Leadership for Electricity Commission

Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of the leadership team for the newly established Gombe State Electricity Regulatory Commission (GOSERC), effective January 21, 2026. This decision follows the confirmation by the Gombe State House of Assembly in line with the enabling law that established the commission.

The leadership team is constituted by Dr. Usman Abba Arabi as chairman, alongside members Sule Usman Abubakar, Sa'ad Ibrahim Pindiga, Lydia Ali, and Talatu Abubakar. Governor Yahaya expressed confidence in the professional caliber of the nominees, asserting that GOSERC will provide the regulatory backbone necessary to improve service delivery, enforce technical and economic standards, protect consumers, and stimulate investment in both urban and rural power infrastructure across the state.

The governor believes that the commission will play a critical role in driving the state's power sector reform and expanding access to electricity, particularly in underserved communities, thereby supporting the industrialization and economic development agenda of Gombe State.
