Gombe Governor Appoints Caretakers for Local Governments

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has approved the appointment of interim caretakers to manage the affairs of local governments and newly created Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Gombe State. This decision follows the expiration of the tenures of 11 local government executive council chairmen, creating a temporary administrative gap at the grassroots level.

Ibrahim Njodi, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday. The governor's approval covers 13 newly established LCDAs, with the aim of sustaining government structure and ensuring continuous service delivery at the grassroots level.

The appointees are drawn from within their respective LGAs to ensure familiarity with local administrative dynamics and community needs. The appointments are effective from April 24, 2026, and include individuals such as Lamaran Ahm for Akko West LCDA and Moham Ajiya for Akko North LCDA, among others.
