Gombe Completes N24bn Urban Renewal Phase 2 Project

Gombe State has successfully completed the second phase of its urban renewal drive, injecting N24 billion into infrastructure development within the Shehu Abubakar District. Dr.

Kabiru Hassan, the Director General of the Gombe State Geographic Information System (GOGIS), announced this development to journalists, describing it as a bold step towards reshaping the state capital. The project includes the construction of a 20.55-kilometer access road valued at N20.24 billion, designed to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities in the area.

Additionally, a 7.5-kilometer erosion control project, stretching from Gombe International Hotel to Nayi Nawa, has been executed at a cost of N3.98 billion. Dr.

Hassan emphasized that these interventions are critical in addressing persistent gully erosion, which poses risks to lives and properties. The projects align with broader land administration reforms championed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, aiming to create a more investor-friendly environment in Gombe.
