Gombe Allocates N2bn for Erosion Control Compensation

The Gombe State government has allocated N2 billion for compensation to households affected by the gully erosion control project. Dr.

Sani Adamu Jauro, the state project coordinator, disclosed this information during a press briefing on Sunday. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that affected households receive adequate compensation and that the project is executed promptly and transparently.

The governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved measures to address genuine grievances from the beneficiaries of the project. Dr.

Jauro reported that 700 complaints have been received regarding the gully erosion control project in Gombe metropolis. These complaints are being carefully documented and reviewed to establish a grievance redress procedure that guarantees fairness and transparency in addressing the concerns of the affected residents.
