Gombe State Approves N5bn for Street Signage Project

The Gombe State Executive Council has approved a N5 billion contract for the comprehensive installation of street numbering and signage across the state. Ibrahim Njodi, the Secretary to the State Government, disclosed this decision following the 52nd Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.

This initiative aims to modernize urban planning and improve service delivery by addressing the long-standing challenges associated with the absence of proper street names and clear signage. The project is a significant step towards aligning Gombe with global best practices in urban development.

Several contractors submitted proposals, and the state has selected the most competent bidders to ensure quality service. The initiative is expected to eliminate difficulties faced by residents and visitors in navigating the state, particularly in the capital's growing urban center.

The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year, significantly improving address identification and enhancing emergency response coordination.
