Gombe Court Sentences Mustapha Isah to Death for Murder

On October 20, 2023, at 9:00 PM, Mustapha Isah, an 18-year-old resident of Santana Street in the Jekadafari area of Gombe, unlawfully entered the residence of Aishatu Abdullahi, also known as Damori, aged 58. During the attack, he inflicted fatal injuries with a knife, leading to her death.

The Gombe State High Court, presided over by Justice Abdulhamid Moham Yakubu, delivered the judgment, stating that the prosecution successfully proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt and established the accused's intention to cause the victim's death. The judge emphasized the grave nature of the offense and the necessity of serving as a deterrent to others, thereby sentencing Isah to death by hanging in accordance with the law.
