Gombe Court Sentences Mustapha Isah to Death for Murder

On Tuesday, the Gombe State High Court, presided over by Justice Abdulhamid Moham Yakubu, sentenced 18-year-old Mustapha Isah to death by hanging for the murder of Aishatu Abdullahi, also known as Damori, aged 58. The court found that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, establishing that Isah had the intention to cause the victim's death.

The incident occurred on October 20, 2023, at approximately 9:00 PM, when Isah unlawfully entered the victim's residence and attacked her with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries that led to her death. Justice Yakubu emphasized the grave nature of the offense and stated that the sentence serves as a deterrent to others, highlighting the importance of protecting human life and the legal consequences of unlawfully taking a life.
