Nigerian Army Conducts Live-Fire Exercise in Gombe

The Nigerian Army has informed residents of Gombe State about an upcoming live-fire training exercise set for March 30 and 31, 2026, at the small arms range in Liji. Lieutenant Kingsley Ugwuok, acting assistant director of army public relations for the 301 Artillery Regiment, issued a statement advising the community not to panic due to the gunfire associated with the exercise.

This drill is part of the bi-annual training activities carried out across various units of the Nigerian Army. The live-fire exercise aims to sharpen operational skills among troops, improve their proficiency in handling weapons, and refresh the skills of professional soldiers.

The training is designed to enhance the overall effectiveness of military personnel in preparation for combat operations they may be assigned to in the future.
