Nigerian Army Conducts Shooting Exercise in Gombe State

The Nigerian Army, through the 301 Artillery Regiment, has announced a shooting exercise set to take place from March 30 to March 31, 2026, in Gombe State. Lt.

Kingsley Ugwuok, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that this exercise is part of the Army's routine training program aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and combat readiness among troops. The exercise will occur at the small arms range in Liji, Gombe State, and is designed to sharpen the skills of personnel in weapon handling.

The Army conducts such major training exercises twice a year across various units nationwide to improve overall combat readiness. Ugwuok emphasized the importance of assessing troop preparedness for assigned duties and urged nearby residents to remain calm during the exercise, advising them not to panic upon hearing gunshots.

Farmers and hunters in the vicinity are also warned to avoid the range area for safety during this period.
