Gombe Hosts Olympic Day Run to Promote Healthy Living

Gombe State hosted the Olympic Day Run as part of the celebration for the Olympic Day, aimed at promoting healthy living and advancing the values of the Olympic movement. The event was designed to encourage Nigerians to embrace Olympic ideals such as friendship and respect while highlighting the importance of regular physical activity.

The Director of Sports at the Gombe State Ministry of Sports, Manga Sale, spoke during the event, which is part of a broader campaign leading up to 2026, emphasizing inclusivity and shared participation. The event stressed that sports remain a powerful tool to foster unity and strengthen social ties, promoting healthier communities.

Senior Special Assistant on Youth and Sports to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Hon. Bappah Gomb Abdullahi, commended the turnout and enthusiasm of participants, urging residents to cultivate the habit of regular exercise.

He noted that collective participation in sports activities significantly contributes to building a healthier and more productive society.
