Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya Praises Local Election Conduct

On Saturday, Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the voter turnout and the peaceful conduct of the local government elections. He cast his vote at a polling unit located at the Government Science Secondary School in Gombe.

Yahaya commended the voters for participating en masse in this civic responsibility and lauded the role of security agencies and electoral officials in ensuring a hitch-free electoral process. He encouraged residents to maintain peace throughout the electoral exercise and stressed the importance of accepting the election outcomes in good faith while pursuing grievances through legal means.

The elections, conducted by the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC), were for local council chairmen and councillors across 11 local government areas and 13 development areas in the state. Yahaya reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening democratic governance and supporting elected council officials to deliver meaningful development at the grassroots level.
