Gombe Monarch Supports Basketball Development Initiatives

The Amateur Basketball Academies (ABA) received royal backing for its grassroots basketball development initiatives after a one-day coaching clinic held in Gombe State. His Royal Highness Engineer Sale Muhammad Umar, OON, Mai Kaltungo, who is the deputy chairman of the Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs and North-East Coordinator of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council, commended the ABA leadership for uniting basketball academies under one association.

He emphasized the importance of effective monitoring and exposure to modern basketball practices for coaches and players. Mai Kaltungo urged the ABA to establish a basketball court in Kaltungo, highlighting the local youth's passion for the sport and the potential for job creation through basketball infrastructure.

The ABA President and Founder, Deputy Comptroller Aliyu Lucky Abubakar, expressed gratitude for the royal support and stressed the role of sports in youth development and empowerment. The ABA delegation also visited Hon. Silas Bukar, the Chairman of Kaltungo local government area, to seek further support for their initiatives.
