Gov Mbah Launches Coal City Games for Young Athletes

The Coal City Games, a pilot basketball competition, commenced on Saturday at the Mo Arena in Abuja, inaugurated by Lucky Aliyu Abubakar, the President and Founder of the ABA. Abubakar stated that the league's purpose is to create a structured pathway for young players to develop their basketball talents while keeping their dreams alive.

He emphasized that talent alone is insufficient, highlighting the necessity of proper coaching, discipline, education, and regular competition for players to achieve their full potential. Abubakar committed to building a developmental structure to support these young athletes.

Igwe Ifeanyi Eke, Chairman of the FCT Basketball Association, praised the initiative and encouraged players to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their skills. The competition will feature over 180 games across Abuja, including matches at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Basketball Courts and Mo Arena.
