Ireland Launches Residency Pathway for Ukrainians

Ireland has introduced the Temporary Protection Transition Scheme, a dedicated long-term residency pathway for Ukrainians currently residing in the country under temporary protection. This initiative, published by Ireland's Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, allows qualifying individuals to apply for a Stamp 4 immigration permission.
This permission is initially valid for up to two years and can be renewed in two-year intervals. Importantly, the time spent on this permission will count towards naturalisation, enabling applicants to work towards Irish citizenship.
Each family member must submit a separate application, and it is not permissible to hold the new Stamp 4 permission alongside existing temporary protection or any other immigration permission. The government assures that approved applicants will retain their residency rights even after the expiration of the EU's Temporary Protection Directive, which remains in effect until March 2028.
The Irish Red Cross and the International Organization for Migration are conducting webinars to assist applicants with the eligibility criteria and application process.
