Kwara Governor Approves 27.5% Allowance for Teachers in Education Sector

Governor AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved a 27.5% allowance for certified teachers, effective from January 2026. This move signals a significant policy shift in response to demands from the education sector.

The allowance will apply to teachers registered with the TRCN and employed by TESCOM, with uncertified teachers receiving a 21% allowance. The Governor's decision aims to boost teacher morale, improve the education sector, and address shortages in remote areas.

Additionally, the government has approved the recruitment of 30,000 teachers for rural communities.
