Google Offers Nigerian Students Free Access to Premium AI Tools for Skill Development

Google has announced that Nigerian students, along with others across Africa, can access its premium AI subscription, Gemini AI Pro, for free for 12 months. The initiative aims to help students build a foundation in AI skills.

Eligible students aged 18 and above from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, and South Africa can benefit from advanced AI tools for learning, research, and creative work. The offer includes tools like Supercharg, Deep Research, and Veo 3, among others.

The program is part of Google's efforts to equip the next generation of African leaders with fundamental AI literacy. Facebook also introduced a subscription service in response to regulatory concerns.
