Google Grants Nigerian Students Free Access to Advanced AI Tools

Google is providing a 12-month free subscription of its Google AI Pro plan to university students in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. This initiative aims to support higher education in Africa by equipping students with advanced AI tools to enhance their learning, research, and creativity.

The program includes features like Gemini 2.5 Pro model, comprehensive tools for academic and creative work, and 2 TB cloud storage. Google's Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, Alex Okosi, sees this as a way to empower the next generation of African leaders and innovators in the field of artificial intelligence.
