Google Launches Free AI Tools for African University Students

Google has launched an initiative offering university students across Africa free access to advanced AI tools through the Google AI Pro 12-month plan. Eligible students from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, and Zimbabwe can utilize Google's AI technology for learning, research, and creative projects.

The program aims to equip the next generation of African leaders with foundational AI literacy and skills to thrive in the evolving global workforce. Alex Okosi, Managing Director of Google Africa, emphasized the importance of democratizing access to technology to empower students academically and prepare them for future innovation.

The Google AI Pro plan includes a suite of tools tailored for academic, research, and creative purposes.
