ITU and Giga Initiative Introduce AI Training in African Schools for Digital Skills

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Giga Initiative have launched a program in Africa, including Nigeria, to bridge the digital skills gap in schools by providing AI and robotics training. The initiative, supported by Google and tech philanthropists, aims to equip students with essential digital skills for the future.

The program will initially roll out in five African countries, focusing on underserved communities to promote AI literacy and empower young people for the digital transformation. By connecting schools to the internet, the initiative seeks to enhance access to digital education and opportunities for students across the continent.
