Google Opens Applications for 10th Africa Accelerator Cohort

Google has launched applications for the 10th Google for Startups Accelerator Africa cohort, emphasizing AI-first solutions for startups based in Africa. The 12-week hybrid program will commence in April 2026, offering selected startups access to Google's AI expertise, technical resources, mentorship, and networking within the global tech ecosystem.

Folarin Aiyegbusi, the head of startup ecosystem Africa, highlighted the increasing trend towards deep tech innovation in Africa's tech landscape. Since its inception in 2018, the Google startup accelerator program has supported 180 startups across 17 African countries, raising $350 million in funding and creating 3,700 direct jobs in the region.

The application window for the 10th cohort opened on February 5, 2026, and will close on March 18, 2026. Interested startups can apply via the g.co/acceleratorafrica link.
