Gospel, Afrobeats artists copying my song – Jaywon claims

Nigerian singer Jaywon has accused gospel and Afrobeats artists of copying the template of his 2012 hit song. He criticized Billboard for excluding his song from the Best Afrobeats Songs list, claiming that his track has had a significant cultural impact since its release.

Jaywon expressed frustration at the lack of recognition for his work, stating that he has been trending since 2012 and continues to be successful. Despite other artists copying his vibe, Jaywon remains undeterred and believes that his song deserves to be acknowledged for its cultural impact.

Recently, Billboard released its Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs list, with 2Face's "African Queen" taking the top spot, followed by hits from Wizkid, Flavour, Rema, and CKay.
