Adeleke Denies Harboring Criminals, Urges Arrests

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke publicly denied allegations that he was sheltering criminals in his residence in Osogbo. During a visit from Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu, Adeleke urged law enforcement agencies to arrest anyone involved in criminal activities, emphasizing that no one should be shielded from the law, regardless of their relationship to him.

He specifically mentioned that if a family member commits a crime, they should also be arrested. The governor criticized police officers for their improper conduct, citing an alleged transfer of officers involved in the investigation of the murder of a 14-year-old boy in Ilobu.

He commended the Inspector General for addressing indiscipline within the Nigeria Police Force and expressed his commitment to cooperating with law enforcement. Disu informed Adeleke that there were complaints regarding the Osun State Police Command's performance, particularly concerning allegations that political groups were harboring criminals.
