Bayelsa Governor Diri Signs Disability and Hospital Bills

On Wednesday, during the 188th State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State signed the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and Bayelsa Medical University Teaching Hospital (BMUTH) bills into law. The PWD law, sponsored by Dr.

Charl Daniel, aims to guarantee dignity, equal opportunities, and fair treatment for persons with disabilities in the state. The law mandates accessibility in public and private infrastructures.

Governor Diri acknowledged the efforts of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for the swift passage of the bills. Additionally, he announced the dissolution of the Bayelsa United Football Club board and the sacking of the technical crew due to the team's relegation from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

An interim management team will oversee the club's reorganization to facilitate its return to top-flight football.
