Gombe Governor Appoints 19 New Permanent Secretaries

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has appointed 19 new Permanent Secretaries to address vacancies in the state civil service and enhance administrative capacity for effective service delivery. The announcement was made by the Head of Service, Prof.

Mu’azu Shehu, who indicated that the appointments were necessary due to a shortage of Permanent Secretaries and the recent restructuring of ministries. The new appointees were selected from 11 local government areas, considering geographical spread, professional experience, and the specific needs of the ministries.

The assessment criteria included suitability, competence, career records, and service performance. The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include Haruna Mohammed Danburam and Mohammed Auwal Ahmed from Akko; Alheri Yoriyo and Haruna Bello Gelengu from Balanga; Ruth Caleb Maina from Billiri; and others from Dukku, Funakaye, Gombe, Kwami, Kaltungo, Nafada, Shongom, and Yamaltu-Deba.

Governor Yahaya urged the new appointees to leverage their experience and professionalism to contribute to a responsive and efficient civil service. The appointments take immediate effect, as stated by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
