Oyo Governor Updates on Kidnapped Schoolchildren Rescue

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde gave an update regarding the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers from Baptist Nursery Primary School and Grammar School in Yawota and Ahoro Esinl communities. The incident occurred on May 15, and the governor acknowledged the prolonged wait and pain experienced by the families of the victims.

He assured the public that security agencies are working tirelessly to bring the victims home safely, pursuing every credible lead and deploying all necessary law enforcement measures. The victims are believed to be located within the expansive Old Oyo National Park, which spans 2,500 square kilometers and presents significant operational challenges for security personnel due to its difficult terrain.

Governor Makinde urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to assist in the ongoing rescue operations.
