Makinde Addresses Rising Insecurity in Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State stated that the increasing insecurity in Nigeria is largely due to the insufficient armament of the state security outfit, Amotekun. He made these remarks while addressing a protest in Ibadan, which was led by social media activist Verydarkman.

The protest called for the release of kidnapped schoolchildren and a teacher following the abduction of 40 students and a teacher in the Oriir Local Government Area. Makinde emphasized that the security agencies in the region are not adequately equipped to effectively carry out their duties.

He reassured the public that efforts are being made to combat insecurity in Oyo State and to bring the abducted victims home.
