Gov. Nwifuru Presents N884.87 Billion 2026 Budget Proposal to Ebonyi Assembly

Governor Nwifuru of Ebonyi State presented a N884.87 billion budget proposal for 2026, the largest in the state's history, to the Ebonyi Assembly in Abakaliki. The budget allocates N749.49 billion for capital expenditure and N135.38 billion for recurrent spending.

Key sectors receiving allocations include the economic sector (N492.9 billion), social sector (N247.97 billion), and administrative sector (N137.37 billion). The budget prioritizes infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, industrialization, and youth development, aiming to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and infrastructure projects.

The focus is on developing an industrial city, including a cement factory.
