Gov. Yusuf Praises Peaceful Bye-Elections in Kano State

On Saturday, Governor Yusuf of Kano State commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the recent bye-elections in the state. In a statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Batur Dawakin Tofa, the governor described the electoral exercise as a milestone in the democratic journey of Kano State, noting the calm atmosphere and record across polling units.

He specifically appreciated the residents of Kano Municipal and Ungogo for their cooperative and peaceful participation. Governor Yusuf lauded the political parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC), for complying with electoral rules and avoiding actions that could disrupt the process.

He emphasized that this was the first time in recent history that elections in Kano were conducted without crisis or violence, marking a significant development in the state's political landscape. The governor assured that his administration would continue to prioritize the security of lives and property, regardless of political or religious affiliations, and reiterated the commitment to work closely with electoral bodies and security agencies to ensure future elections remain transparent and credible.
