Governor Yusuf Meets Emir Sanusi Amid Dispute in Kano

On the evening of a recent iftar, Governor Yusuf's delegation held a closed-door meeting with Emir Sanusi at Gidan Rumfa Palace, amid the ongoing emirship dispute in Kano. The meeting, confirmed by Sanusi Batur Dawakin Tofa via a Facebook post, included key officials such as Umar Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, and Sulaiman Wali, the Governor's Chief of Staff.

This gathering comes as Kano prepares for Eid el-Fitr celebrations, which are steeped in historical cultural significance. The state government has hinted at a potential resolution to the emirship conflict, which remains unresolved due to ongoing legal battles concerning the dethronement of Sanusi II by the 2024 Bayero.

Despite the controversy, the meeting signals the administration's recognition of Sanusi II as the emir, suggesting a possible political statement amidst the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming Sallah Durbar and its organization.
