Zulum Condemns Maiduguri Explosion, Urges Vigilance

Governor Babagana Zulum condemned an explosion that occurred in Maiduguri on a Monday, labeling it a cruel and cowardly attack. Currently in Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj, Zulum expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which targeted innocent residents during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued by his special adviser on media, Dauda Iliya, he urged residents to remain vigilant and called on security agencies to intensify surveillance, particularly around mosques and public places. Zulum expressed his sadness over the explosion, which took place in a metropolitan area, and thought of the families of the victims and the injured.

He condemned the attack as barbaric and inhuman, suggesting that the renewed violence may be linked to ongoing military operations targeting insurgents in the Sambisa Forest hideouts. Despite the incident, Zulum reassured residents that security forces have control of the situation and are taking steps to prevent further attacks, urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with security operations.
